It's All About The Sound

Let's not kid ourselves. We're all kids at heart! The best thing about fitting an intake kit is hearing a spooling turbo. You can't beat that! It's just that good! It's easily the cheapest way to make you smile.  

Striking looks, Improved appearance

Gone are the days of showing off your engine bay. New car engine bays suck! But one thing to consider is if you fit an IFX intake, you'll have at least one thing to discuss. 

Finer filtration, less restriction

Several differences exist between the standard paper filter and the cotton-style 6 inch K&N Air Filter used in our IFX Intake Kit. The main difference is how the filters collect dirt particles.

In a paper filter, the filtration is done by layers of fine-grained paper, with each layer trapping finer dirt particles. This style of filter works well to trap dirt but causes poor airflow. Paper filters block up very quickly and have a significantly shorter working life with even shorter peak performance.

Cotton air filters capture dirt particles with oil in the filter. Since the oil does most of the dirt filtration, more air can flow through coarse holes. The other main advantage of a cotton-style air filter is that it's reusable, and there is less power loss between cleaning intervals.

K&N offers a 1 million MILE warranty (which is over 1.6 million kilometers) to put this in perspective, the factory filter would require replacement every 30,000km. You would go through 53 of them to every 1 K&N.

The Art Of Design

Air Box

Shape - The air-box is made up of a 5-sided design. The top edge of the air box makes contact with the bonnet, Sealing the box from the engine bay heat.

Mounting - We have utilised factory mounting points, which means no drilling or additional bolts are required for easy installation.

Bell Mouth - The key to our design is using a massive 6-inch to 3-inch bell mouth. A bell mouth significantly reduces air turbulence at the intake pipe's entry point and provides much better airflow over a conventional intake pipe inlet.

Seal - A durable rubber pinch mould seal is fitted along the top edge of the air box.
This seal protects the air filter from drawing hot air from the engine bay compartment.

Ducting - Hybrid airbox design accepts factory intake ductwork 

Metal - Parts are laser cut from strong 3mm 5005 aluminum and folded in a CNC Brake Press 

Coating - Powder-coated in-house using OxyTech Ebony Texture Black 

Badge - Laser Cut, Polished Stainless Steel Badge.

Construction: Four individual sections are welded together. The weld seams are blended and sanded smooth, giving it a one-piece appearance.     

Intake Pipe

Tube - 3 inch aluminum tube with bead rolled ends.

BOV return pipe - The pipe is designed to be used with the stock recirculation valve hose.

Hose Connection -  Accepts factory breather hoses. 

Air Filter

We have chosen the K & N 6 inch filter because it has an excellent presence inside the i30N's engine bay. They are so sure of their product that they offer a 1 MILLION MILE WARRANTY! We trust in K & N filters, and you will, too.

Appearance

The IFX 3 inch intake pipe and IFX airbox are powder-coated in stunning textured black. The textured coating gives the parts an OEM + feel and fits the overall look of the engine bay of your Hyundai i30 N Facelift DCT. We have matched the pipe with black silicone hoses and Breeze stainless steel hose clamps to complete the look.

i30N DCT IFX Cold Air Intake Contains:

- Powder-coated black aluminum air-box with a 6 inch bellmouth and top blister rubber seal

- 3 inch Aluminum intake pipe with ½" and ⅜" hose tail

- 6 inch K&N cotton air filter (6-inch flange, 7.5> 4.5-inch body, 6 inches long)

- 4 ply Black silicone joiners

- Breeze worm drive hose clamps
