When you open up the bonnet of most new cars, you’ll most likely see a LARGE plastic cover hiding an ugly engine littered with sensors and parts that leave you scratching your head! The main difference is how the filters collect dirt particles.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eIn a paper filter, the filtration is done by layers of fine-grained paper, with each layer trapping finer dirt particles. This style of filter works well to trap dirt but causes poor airflow. Paper filters block up very quickly and have a significantly shorter working life with even shorter peak performance.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eCotton air filters capture dirt particles with oil in the filter. Since the oil does most of the dirt filtration, more air can flow through coarse holes. This significantly reduces air turbulence at the entry into the intake pipe and provides much better airflow over a conventional intake pipe inlet.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSeal -\u003c\/strong\u003e A durable rubber pinch mould seal is fitted along the top edge of the air box.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThis seal protects the air filter from drawing hot air from the engine bay compartment.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s-0\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDucting\/lack of ducting from factory location -\u003c\/strong\u003e While developing the induction\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ekit,\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s-1\"\u003e we discovered that the factory air ducting doesn't have any ramming effect from the high-pressure air hitting the front of the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003evehicle.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s-2\"\u003eWe felt that connecting to the factory ducting would be an added complication to the design of the Airbox for no added performance\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003egains.\u003cspan\u003e Our initial intention was\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s-3\"\u003e to connect to the factory duct and produce an air-ramming scoop behind the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003egrill.\u003cspan\u003e However, to achieve this style of scoop, parts of the vehicle would have to be cut, which\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s-4\"\u003e would affect your factory\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ewarranty.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFuture mounting points - \u003c\/strong\u003eWe have included two additional mounting holes on the underside of the air box. These holes will be used to mount products we are currently designing for the i30N.
